New Wichita Children’s Hospital

Last year, KVC Hospitals provided acute/inpatient treatment for more than 3,400 children ages 6-18 who were struggling with suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other behavioral health challenges. An additional 2,000 youth were referred to KVC Hospitals, but due to limited capacity, we were unable to serve them.

In response to the overwhelming demand for more access to emergency psychiatric care, we have opened a third hospital location in Wichita, KS.

Children’s Psychiatric Treatment

Our new hospital provides a safe, secure, and child-friendly environment that encourages positive interactions and creativity. Recreation features include a gym and indoor and outdoor activity spaces to allow kids to be kids while receiving treatment. Families can visit their child and spend time together in a comfortable, private family room or if they live out of town, we can use tele-video equipment for a virtual visit.
